Our Art Curriculum
Intent
At Maple Grove Primary School, we recognise that all children are artists and strive to instil a lasting love for the arts in them beyond their school years.
Our Art and Design curriculum is carefully designed to support our planning and teaching, ensuring that high-quality art lessons are delivered across the school from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Year 6.
The Art and Design scheme aims to inspire children and build confidence in experimenting with and creating artwork. Developed by experts in the field, this curriculum provides every opportunity for children to enhance their skills, nurture their talents and interests, express their thoughts and ideas about the world, and learn about art and artists from various cultures and throughout history.
Our Art and Design scheme also helps children meet the Early Learning Goals for Expressive Arts and Design. It focuses on creative material use and encourages imaginative expression. Additionally, it aligns with the end-of-key-stage attainment targets outlined in the National Curriculum.
As an Artsmark partner, our curriculum supports the school's Artsmark journey, inspiring children and young people to create, experience, and participate in exceptional arts and culture.
